The Ponoka Gators Swim Club is powered by the support of our swim families. From fundraising to volunteering at events, it takes a team effort to keep things running smoothly. Your time and involvement help us cover operating costs, keep fees accessible, and create a fun, well-organized swim season for everyone.
Each season, families are asked to participate in fundraising efforts that directly support the club. Fundraising helps cover expenses like pool time, coaching, equipment, and meet-related costs. Details about 2025 fundraising expectations and opportunities will be provided at the start of the season, including any prize-based campaigns or family targets. Whether it’s selling raffle tickets, helping with events, or securing sponsorships, every bit of support makes a difference.

As a volunteer-run club, we rely on families to pitch in throughout the season. There are many ways to get involved, from timing at meets and helping with set-up, to coordinating snacks or managing team gear. Some roles are one-time commitments, while others may run throughout the season.
Volunteer needs and sign-up opportunities will be posted regularly. If you have a skill or interest you’d like to share, let us know, there’s always room for more helping hands.
Our biggest event of the season is happening right here at home—and it’s all hands on deck! From marshalling swimmers and timing races to helping in the office, prepping food, and making announcements, there’s a role for everyone. Please mark your calendar, we’ll need the full Gator crew to make it a success!
We need officials at every meet we attend, including our own, and we’re counting on you! Swim Alberta requires us to provide one trained official for every 4 swimmers we enter in a meet. Roles include safety marshal, timer, stroke and turn judge, and more. The good news? Training is free, quick, online, and being on deck gives you the best view of the action!
